Colombia Self-Portrait

18x24

Oil on Canvas

This portrait came about from a photo my friend took of me in Colombia. The image made me laugh because I wasn’t paying attention when they took it. I love how candid it was. I remember I was exhausted, I was hungry from a hike, and didn’t care what my posture was, didn’t care what I looked like. That got me thinking, who are we when we think no one is watching? I think we are truly ourselves…and there is something beautiful about that.
